NASCAR fans call out The CW for blacking out race on local affiliates

For those wanting to watch the NASCAR Xfinity Series race today that could be easier said than done depending on where you live. There are a number of The CW affiliates who are not showing the NASCAR race on TV right now.
With no options except for a couple of driver cams and a battle cam online, there are very few options for fans. The CW is great because so many homes are able to access it. You can hook an antenna up to your TV and you have the network right there.
However, that doesn’t include everybody. There are certain cities and regions that are unable to access the race on TV. The CW is made up of a lot of local affiliates who have creative control over their programming.
There are many NASCAR fans upset about The CW. But what can be done?
For many fans, hockey is one. Not that they care about that.
Now, I’m not sure about this claim of only 10 states having the race on. But the anger from the fans is obvious.
It is a shame that there are so many with issues getting the race. NASCAR on The CW has been great through these first few weeks of the season. Great graphics, broadcast booth, and perhaps the best racing product that NASCAR has going for it.
It would be great if NASCAR and The CW could work out a deal and try to get this series in more markets. There have already been really good ratings this season for the series, on par with NBC and FS1 in the past.
Given the ratings success so far this season, I’m not sure the blackout is that big of a deal. There are plenty of people still watching.

NASCAR Xfinity Series pole goes to Alex Bowman on CW
With Bowman setting the tone in qualifying, the Xfinity Series regulars are on notice. Bowman is going to do whatever he can to win at his home track. Sheldon Creed will start P2 on the front row next to the 17 car.
Sammy Smith and Connor Zilisch locked up the second row for JR Motorsports. Keep an eye on them, Smith won this race two years ago.
Alex Bowman is going to be tough to beat for this Xfinity Series field. However, never say never. There is a ton of talent in the series right now. Even for a Cup regular, today’s race will not be easy.
On the Cup Series side, Bowman has a great looking paint scheme but not a lot of speed. His Ally/Best Friends paint scheme is to help bring awareness to shelter pets around the country. The motto “Save Them All” will be on the 48 car this weekend. A lot of cute puppies on the side, too.
