NASCAR fans rip FOX for production mistakes, commercials during Atlanta race

It is only Week 2 of the NASCAR Cup Series season and fans are upset about the production and commercials on FOX for Atlanta. From transition mistakes and graphics issues to constant commercials, folks are not happy.
The NASCAR race at Atlanta is on big FOX. Throughout the race, fans have found issues with the overall quality of the production. No one likes commercials, either. So, you always have those complaints.
There are a number of people upset out there. Then again, it’s the internet, someone is always upset. The NASCAR Reddit page already has a thread about it.
Earlier in the race, the FOX crew tired to highlight a NASCAR pit crew. It’s a great segment they began last season. Wiliam Byron’s crew was selected this week, but the segment had major issues with most of the video not even playing.
Commercials, segments, cutaways to the crowd – there was a little bit of everything going on in this race.
To be fair to FOX, many of the commercial breaks have been split screen. That has at least given fans a chance to keep up with the race under green and even during pit stops. In the past, FOX has missed more than a few things by cutting to full-screen commercials.
So, there are things that FOX is going this year for NASCAR that are improved. Getting the graphics and video packages to appear on the screen properly is another thing.

NASCAR on FOX hoping for another dramatic finish
The new configuration at Atlanta has given NASCAR and media partners like FOX a new must-see track. If I was introducing someone to the sport for the first time, in this car, I’d pick Atlanta or Kansas as the tracks to watch. They are producing great races unlike any other track lately.
There will always be fans who are upset about this or that. There are kinks that FOX has to work out on this NASCAR production moving forward. What does this mean for the IndyCar coverage? Or will it be outshined by that new product on FOX?
When you look at how The CW is handling the Xfinity Series, it is a new approach. No, it isn’t radically different. It is the same formula, but it appears to be more refined. The CW has its own aesthetic and identity with a lively broadcast crew. They have also taken to showing all green flag laps even during commercials.
NASCAR on FOX is 25 years old this year. They have a lot of great moments in their history and more to come, I’m sure. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to feel like there was a little more effort being put into polishing the overall product on TV.
