For the second year in a row, we will be seeing NASCAR Full Speed on Netflix, detailing the intensity and drama of the playoffs. Last year, the docuseries was a huge hit and maybe even encouraged viewers to tune into the Cup Series this season.

Variety reported the news from Netflix. Season 2 of Full Speed has been greenlit and NASCAR fans will get to take an inside look at the postseason. Season 2 will debut in 2025, Season 1 came out in January 2024.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be expanding our NASCAR partnership with Full Speed Entertainment,” says Connor Schell, CEO and founder of Words + Pictures, the studio working with NASCAR. “The first season of Full Speed was a really rewarding project for our company, and it was a thrill to work side-by-side with NASCAR Studios every step of the way. The opportunity to collaborate with them and bring audiences more great racing content opens a wealth of possibilities we can’t wait to get working on.”

NASCAR Studios is once again involved. Together with Words + Pictures, the two are forming Full Speed Entertainment. NASCAR has been ramping things up on that side of things. They are hoping to produce more content like Full Speed, race coverage, and more.

“It’s such a natural partnership for NASCAR Studios and for me personally,” says John Dahl, NASCAR’s vice president of content. “I have so much respect and appreciation for Connor. We’ve had a great working relationship and friendship going back to the creation of ESPN Films and 30 for 30, and I’m excited about all the possibilities we can explore in this new chapter.”

NASCAR ‘Full Speed’ was big hit in 2024

Earlier this year when Season 1 of NASCAR’s Full Speed came out on Netflix, it was a hit. Longtime fans enjoyed it, a lot of new fans watched. And it was seen as a good thing for the sport. While it wasn’t guaranteed, many felt Season 2 was going to happen this year.

During the NASCAR Playoffs, Netflix crew will be following drivers. Last year, 23XI Racing and Denny Hamlin leaned into the production. Hamlin let Netflix film him doing about everything but go to the bathroom.

However, it was that exposure and access that made it a hit. Hamlin and 23XI Racing made NASCAR Full Speed special. It wasn’t just another docuseries about the sport, which have not gone well in the past.

So, are you ready for Season 2? We aren’t going to get it until 2025. Likely right before the NASCAR Cup Series season starts. But it will likely be another fascinating show for fans new and old.
