This Sunday the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs continue with the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway and we’ve got the odds. A lot changed in just one playoff race at Darlington. After putting on one of the best races of the season in the spring, are we going to be treated to another classic finish at Kansas?

This is another intermediate track, and based on what we have seen this season we can make some predictions. Toyota is going to be fast. We are probably going to see the Ford group show out strong once again. Then we will have at least two Hendrick cars involved at the end of this race.

Of course, there will likely be more surprises. However, that is the general prediction we can make right now.

It seems that the folks in Las Vegas at Bet MGM feel the same way. Denny Hamlin is listed as the favorite heading into the weekend at 9-2 odds. Guess who is right there with him? Kyle Larson at 11-2 odds. It came down to those two earlier this season. Can we get a repeat?

Martin Truex Jr. is also listed at 11-2 odds. He is followed by William Byron at 15-2 and the top-5 finishes with Tyler Reddick at 9-1 odds along with Christopher Bell.

Last season’s winner, Bubba Wallace, is listed at 12-1 odds to win this race. The 23XI Racing driver feels pretty good about his chances of making the Round of 12. Based on how well Hamlin’s car was set up earlier this year, the 23XI camp should all be fast.

Hollywood Casino 400 gives drivers a chance at redemption

Last weekend at Darlington, a few drivers that many might have considered Championship 4 contenders really struggled. Others salvaged their nights better than others. However, it has led to a situation where these drivers will have to drive harder and take more chances.

Bell is one of those drivers that will have to have a great race at Kansas or he will see himself slip below the cutline. He’s just one point up on Bubba Wallace for the last spot in the Round of 12 going into the Hollywood Casino 400.

Kevin Harvick (20-1) looked to have a win in his grasp, but a pit road mistake took that all away. He’s two points under the cutline and could use a top-5 finish to give him a boost. It will be up to Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (150-1) to avoid mistakes as well. He salvaged his day with stage points at Darlington but could have had so much more.

As for Michael McDowell (250-1), 19 points below the line, it is almost time to think about a win-or-go-home situation. The Hollywood Casino 400 gives all of these drivers a shot, but they can’t all be winners.
