NASCAR will likely see 23XI Racing, Front Row Motorsports and RFK Racing have a third car for the 2025 season. On Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, insider Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports revealed where the three teams stand when it comes to having a third car.

“You look at Front Row and 23XI, they intend to run three cars. They say they’re going to run three cars,” Pockrass said. “What’s going to happen? We still don’t know the way the litigation will proceed and how they will respond to it. I still think Zane Smith is the leader for the third Font Row car, I still think that Riley Herbst is the leader for the third 23XI car, still think that Ryan Preece is likely for a third RFK car potentially.

“Do they lease a charter or somehow get a charter? One of the Rick Ware charters is a possibility. And then does Corey LaJoie, the leader for the ride that he has right now in the 51? I would say yes, but if there is someone with more sponsorship or someone becomes available, that can change things.”

More on 23XI Racing, Front Row Motorsports and RFK Racing

As Pockrass mentioned, 23XI and Front Row filed a lawsuit against NASCAR after not signing the new charters proposed by the stock car series. Both teams plan to run three cars with or without charters in 2025. Front Row purchased an additional charter from Stewart-Haas Racing in May. 23XI entered a purchase agreement with Stewart-Haas for a charter in August.

In NASCAR’s latest filing, it said it plans to run 32 charters in 2025 instead of 36. Per Sports Illustrated, NASCAR said, “The deadline for Plaintiffs to sign 2025 Charter Agreements expired weeks ago, and NASCAR has taken steps, consistent with its contractual obligations to other Charter Teams, to plan for a season with only 32 Charters. Plaintiffs do not need these Charter Agreements to race, and indeed have stated publicly that they will be racing in NASCAR regardless.”
