Christopher Bell has won three consecutive NASCAR Cup Series races, and two insiders have some interesting things to say about it. On The Teardown podcast, Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic shared thoughts on Bell winning Sunday’s race in Phoenix as well as the races at COTA and Atlanta.

“He’s nailing it right now,” Gluck said. Gluck also mentioned how he talked to Bell on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio this week, and Bell said he didn’t expect to win the races at COTA and Atlanta. Now that NASCAR is getting into the thick of the season, Gluck expects Bell to be at his best.

“He could absolutely legit win four in a row,” Gluck stated when talking about Bell’s chances of winning the upcoming race at Las Vegas. “He’s probably going to be the favorite going into it.”

Bianchi then said Chistopher Bell could do something historic. “I’ll give you a hot take, and this is going to sound really outlandish,” Bianchi began. “I look at this schedule, he’s the favorite at Vegas. Then we go to Homestead, where he’s really, really good. And then Martinsville and Darlington. I could make a case that he could win five in a row.

“…I’m not saying he’s going to, but if I said to you he could win five looking at this schedule, the odds are minimal, but the fact he has a percent chance of doing it and you can talk yourself into it to some degree tells you one, how good he is, how good this team is and just where they’re at right now. This schedule sets up so well for them. If they don’t have five, six wins by the [Coca-Cola] 600, you’re probably gonna be like you’re crazy, but that honestly should be the goal.”

Christopher Bell is the first driver to win three consecutive Cup Series races since Kyle Larson did it in 2021. Larson went on to win 10 Cup Series races and the Cup Series championship that year.

“I’m just a small part of it. The last couple years, we’ve been close,” Bell told reporters after the race. “Everyone on our team could feel this. We could feel this, but it was just like fighting against the current. Just something would not work and take us out of contention. But we were close. It’s not about me. It’s about everybody on our team. So I haven’t changed as a driver. I’m the same driver that I was back in 2021. The team is working together right now. That’s what it’s all about.”
