The NASCAR SciApps 200 has been moved half an hour up due to weather. Start time for the Xfinity Series is now 3:06 PM EST on USA. Rain has once again plagued New Hampshire Motor Speedway and NASCAR is doing what they can to work around it.

This morning the rain held off long enough to get the Modified race in. However, the clouds opened up soon after and derailed the afternoon. NASCAR is moving the start time of the Xfinity Series race to avoid rain coming later in the day.

Don’t forget that wet-weather tires are available. As long as there isn’t a heavy rain at the track and it is damp conditions, those tires can be used to race on. Start time has been moved from 3:30 to 3:06 PM EST.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series at New Hampshire puts on a good show. Hell, this series puts on a good show most weeks in the year. There is enough drama, action on the track, and chaos to make it enthralling, no matter the track.

It does feel like the wet-weather tires are going to get some use today. The chances of rain are just too much and too constant for them not to use them. Then again, we saw at Dover earlier this season how the rain can hold and hold and hold.

Right now we are in an “expect the worst, hope for the best” situation. Right now there is little that can be done. Wait and see and at the very least, we should get some wet-weather racing. Maybe even a postponed event.

SciApps 200 could continue Xfinity rivalries

There are a few rivalries brewing in the Xfinity Series. Austin Hill and Shane van Gisbergen. Sam Mayer and Riley Herbst. Sheldon Creed and the checkered flag. There are lots of water and oil relationships going on between drivers.

The SciApps 200 will probably have wet weather tires. It is a short track. There will be frustrations and unknowns during the race. That is a recipe for heated moments and quite possibly some pushing and shoving.

Short track racing in the Xfinity Series is great. There will be a pair of talented Cup Series drivers in the field as well. Both Alex Bowman and Christopher Bell will be in the Xfinity Series race. Bell has dominated New Hampshire in this series in the past.

We will see racing today. Let’s just hope the rain is light enough to at least give us a wet-weather race. We haven’t seen a lot of the wet-weather tires and to see a whole race or a majority of a race with them would be very interesting.
