Say goodbye to the green “Get Bioethanol” rings on NASCAR fuel ports in 2025. The sanctioning body will no longer require the branding. This is reportedly being changed in all three national series.

Joseph Srigley of Racing America OnSI is reporting the change. American Ethanol has had a deal with NASCAR to display the green rings on all race cars and trucks since 2011. That is coming to an end.

According to Srigley, teams were informed of the change earlier this week. There is no word on why the change is being made as of this time.

American Ethanol is a sponsor of more than just the fuel ports. Austin Dillon has been partnered with the company over the years. He appeared a few times with American Ethanol as his primary sponsor in 2024.

The company is also the sponsor of the green flag. So, it remains to be seen if those sponsorships will change in 2025. If this is a case of the company backing out of the sport completely, that is unfortunate.

NASCAR is losing GEICO as a premier partner. Xfinity is possibly stepping down as the title sponsor of the secondary series after 2025. The sport needs more sponsors, not fewer.

NASCAR should have a big year in 2025

The 2025 season should be big for NASCAR. It is the fourth year of the Next Gen car, they have a new media deal, and the sport will be available in more places next season than it has been in a long time.

While that means fans have to have streaming apps on top of the usual channels, it is an overall good thing for the sport. Getting on Prime Video next summer is major. That should put the sport in front of new eyes.

With an international race in Mexico City, there is even more room to grow for NASCAR. Mexico loves motorsports and if you could somehow get someone like Pato O’Ward to compete, the fans would turn out in droves.

There will be a lot of changes in 2025. NASCAR won’t look the same as it did this year. But that could be a good thing overall. Let’s hope so.
