During tonight’s NASCAR Truck Series race on FOX, the broadcast shared video tributes in honor of Shige Hattori and Jon Edwards. Hattori and Edwards, both longtime members of the NASCAR community, died in the last week.

Shige Hattori died last Saturday night in a car accident in North Carolina. Jon Edwards’ death was announced on Thursday night. Hattori, a former open-wheel and NASCAR racer and team owner, was 61. Edwards, longtime PR rep with Hendrick Motorsports, was 53.

During the Bristol Truck Series race, the NASCAR on FOX broadcast shared these touching videos. Both had a profound impact on the sport, garage, and all those they came in contact with.

Shige was known for being the team owner of Hattori Racing Enterprises. His organization won the 2018 Truck Series championship with Brett Moffitt.

Edwards worked for years with Jeff Gordon, starting in 1994. He then helped revive Kyle Larson’s career when he came to Hendrick Motorsports.

The NASCAR on FOX broadcast also shared a third tribute for Al Pearce. A journalist who covered 56 Daytona 500s and countless other moments across all forms of motorsports, died at the age of 82.

Of course, with three deaths in the NASCAR community, there are so many mourning. A former driver and team owner, a longtime PR rep, and an iconic journalist, all gone in a matter of days.

There have been so many touching tributes online. Drivers, crew members, others in the NASCAR industry, media members, and fans have shared memories of all three of these men over the last week.

Unfortunately, the Truck Series broadcast took a bit of a melancholy mood. But all three of these men deserve to be celebrated and remembered for what they contributed to this sport and how they touched the lives of their friends, families, and loved ones.

Now we have the rest of this Truck Series race to watch. Bayley Currey is putting on a show and is trying to pull his Niece Motorsports teammate Kaden Honeycutt with him in the top-five. Really strong showing for those two drivers tonight.

Rajah Caruth has played the strategy and got back to the front of the field. There are a lot of moving parts with drivers playing strategy, staying out, taking tires, and trying to find any way to separate themselves from the rest of the field.
