NASCAR part-timer Chris Hacker is going through legal trouble as the driver was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired. Fans will note Hacker from his time off and on with On Point Motorsports as well as his time with Young’s Motorsports and RSS Racing.

The 23-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, August 15th around 12:30 AM, TobyChristie.com reported. Huntersville Police in North Carolina arrested Hacker.

Chris Hacker has a court date set for September 19th. The NASCAR driver will also face charges of Speeding, Reckless Driving to Endanger, and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. As part of North Carolina’s usual procedures, Hacker’s license has been suspended for 30 days.

Hacker has spent most of his time in the Truck Series when it comes to NASCAR. With 13 races under his belt, his career is still developing. The Noblesville, Indiana native will have to work through this if he hopes to get back behind the wheel.

This season, Hacker has made six starts in NASCAR between the Xfinity and Truck Series. He has a season-best of P14 at Richmond for the Xfinity Series. Meanwhile, he has a best finish of P12 in the Truck Series at North Wilkesboro.

In 2017, Chris Hacker was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated while in Indiana. Other misdemeanor charges such as Possession of Marijuana were dismissed after a plea bargain was reached. In 2018, Hacker admitted to violating his parole and was put under house arrest for 180 days.

Hacker is also known as the first NASCAR driver to be born with a Brachial Plexus injury. He has done a lot of charity work to help those suffering from the same issue.

Chris Hacker and Brachial Plexus injuries

A Brachial Plexus injury is essentially nerve damage. For Chris Hacker, it affects his left arm where he has very limited movement. For a guy that drives cars for a living, it makes it even more impressive what he is able to accomplish in motorsports.

During his time as a driver, Hacker has raised money for children facing the same injury as him. He has paid for 50 kids to attend a camp focused on the disability and the camp is something that helped Hacker during his childhood as well.

The latest legal trouble for Chris Hacker is going to be hard for him to handle. Sponsors and partners want to know they are putting their companies with teams and drivers that represent them the best.

This weekend at Watkins Glen, Josh Bilicki is replacing Chris Hacker in the No. 07 car for SS-Green Light Racing in the Xfinity Series.
