NASCAR playoff standings, Cup points updated after Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway
The NASCAR Cup Series playoff standings and Cup points have been updated following their awesome debut at Iowa Speedway on Sunday evening.
It looked like Kyle Larson was on his way to his fourth win of the season, but contact with Daniel Suarez sent him into the wall, opening up the race for the rest of the field. Taking full advantage was Ryan Blaney, as the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion was able to capture his first win of 2024.
Of course, Larson’s wreck, coupled with some other huge results, has dramatically changed the standings for the Cup Series. Check out all the differences below, as Blaney has officially locked himself into the playoffs, giving himself an opportunity to repeat as the Cup Series’ champion.

Despite his wreck at Iowa Speedway, Kyle Larson remains atop the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Standings. One of the bigger movers on Sunday was the aforementioned Ryan Blaney, who jumped up to sixth in the standings by finally winning his first race of 2024.

As for the overall standings, Kyle Larson relinquished the lead to his teammate Chase Elliott. While the No. 9 is in eighth in the Playoff Standings, his overall consistency has been a marvel in 2024, and it has him atop the overall NASCAR Cup Series Point Standings at the moment.
