NASCAR Playoff standings updated after Alex Bowman Roval disqualification
Following a shocking disqualification for Alex Bowman based on his car’s racing weight at Charlotte, the NASCAR Cup Series playoff standings have been updated.
Joey Logano will now qualify as the final entry into the eight-man field, slipping ahead of Bowman.
Of course, there is still an appeals process that Bowman will likely avail himself of before everything is settled for good. In any case, the updated playoff standings are out. You can view them below.

Denny Hamlin reacts to advancing in NASCAR playoffs
Denny Hamlin is one step closer to winning a Cup Series championship as he advances to the Round of 8 of the playoffs at the ROVAL 400 on Sunday. After the race, Hamlin spoke to NBC Sports about being one of the eight drivers who are still in the playoffs.

“It’s such a tough spot to be in kind of up like we were because the only thing that really can hurt you is a really detrimental day so you can’t be as aggressive as you really want to but you can’t lose a bunch of track position either,” Hamlin said. “Great vibe, great job by this Sports Clips Haircuts Toyota team. Chris Gabehart and the team just did an awesome job of keeping us in it. Luckily we were able to come away with a top-15 there.”
Hamlin earned a P14 finish and it was good enough to place him in sixth place in the playoff standings. But he knows he has some work to do if he wants to advance to the Championship 4 (or NASCAR Cup Series Championship) race on November 10.
“Now these tracks coming up, we race,” Hamlin added.
