NASCAR ratings released for Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway
The rating is in for this past weekend’s Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and it’s an encouraging one for the NASCAR Cup Series.
According to Adam Stern of the Sports-Business Journal, NBC received a 1.31 rating for the exhilarating event, with 2.344 million viewers tuning in. That’s an increase from last season, something NASCAR must be elated over.
“@NBC got a 1.31 rating and 2.344 million viewers for Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, up 1% and 4% from last year respectively,” Stern posted on X. “@NASCAR’s Cup Series has tallied viewership increases for four straight weeks and six of the last seven races.”
The rating and viewership numbers are more than justified for NASCAR. Throughout the weekend that was in Florida, the racing was nothing short of incredible. Tyler Reddick put the capper on an all-time race with a last-lap, career-defining move to clinch his spot in the Championship 4, sending his 23XI Racing team into a frenzy.
Moving forward, there are only two races remaining in the NASCAR season, with a trip to Martinsville on the docket for this coming weekend. It remains to be seen who will be feeling themselves after Sunday’s finale to the Round of 8 in Virginia, but if the past couple of weeks are any indicator, a large audience will be watching.

Words simply don’t do Tyler Reddick’s race-winning move at Homestead-Miami justice, as it’s a moment that’ll live on for quite some time.

NASCAR insiders Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi reveled in the gravity of the move on this week’s episode of The Teardown, the latter claiming Reddick’s move will be what defines him as a racer when he decides to hang up his steering wheel, which hopefully won’t be for quite some time.
“To have a finish like this, where a driver on older tires and somehow makes the move into turn three in a move that, you know, Ryan Blaney afterwards was like, ‘I don’t know how he did it.’ Tyler Reddick doesn’t know how he did it,” Bianchi stated. “To pull that off is remarkable, and it’s going to be the signature moment, likely going to be the signature moment in Tyler Reddick’s career when you look back and say, ‘What defied Tyler Reddick as a driver?’ You’re going to look back at this last lap today and say, ‘That is Tyler Reddick as a driver in a nutshell.’
“He drove it in there, despite the circumstances on older tires, threw down this huge Herculean lap and passed not one, but two drivers on the last lap, and stuck his car into turn three on older tires at Homestead, and pulled it off. Like, that’s incredible. That’s something you play in a highlight reel. That is the signature moment on a highlight reel when your career is over.”
Alas, Reddick needed a miracle to get into the Championship 4, and he made one happen in Florida over the weekend. Now, if he’s able to cap off his season with a victory at Phoenix and lock up his first NASCAR Cup Series title, the move he made on Sunday will take on a new life.
