NASCAR ratings revealed for Cup Series race at Charlotte Roval
The Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway was a big hit for NASCAR in terms of television ratings. Per Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic, NASCAR announced the playoff race at Roval had a 1.35 household rating with an average of 2.42 million viewers. Sunday’s race is the most-watched Roval race since 2021. Additionally, the six playoff races in 2024 have seen a six percent increase in year-over-year ratings.
NASCAR fans saw Kyle Larson win the Roval race. He has now won six races this season and looks poised to win his second NASCAR Cup Series championship. After the race, Larson talked about if the win made a statement as he and his team advanced to the Round of 8 of the playoffs.
“For myself and I think our team it’s no statements that we’re trying to send to the field. I think the field knows that we’re strong. I think the field knows that we could win at any track,” Larson said. “It is nice to win and really more than anything just gain five more points that rolls into the next round. We’ve won stages. We’ve won a couple of races since the playoffs have started, and that really helps. I’m just excited to kind of get ourselves to the next three great tracks for us and hopefully, we can make that final four.”

Kyle Larson talks about how playoffs change after NASCAR Roval win
Larson also talked about how the playoffs change now that he’s in the Round of 8. “I feel like it calms down a little bit once we get to the Round of 8. “I feel like there’s more desperate drivers I feel like in the Round of 12. To me, the Round of 12 has always been the scariest round because of the tracks, but too just some of the drivers in it,” Larson said.
“I don’t know. I think the field starts giving more respect. As the group starts getting smaller, I feel like the rest of the field starts giving a little bit more respect and give-and-take to the playoff guys. I feel like it gets not easier by any means, but just a little less scary.”
