Things are heating up on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit. With 10 races remaining in the 2023 regular season, drivers are putting themselves in position to make the playoffs and make a push for a championship.

Who’s in the best spot to win the Bill France Cup this year? NASCAR.com has updated its weekly power rankings following Sunday’s race at Sonoma and before this weekend’s trip to Nashville.

A familiar veteran, Kyle Busch, currently sits atop the power rankings. Martin Truex Jr. — who claimed the checkered flag on Sunday — is right behind him in the No. 2 spot.

Here’s a complete look at NASCAR.com’s top-10 as the Cup Series prepares for the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend:

  1. Kyle Busch
  2. Martin Truex Jr.
  3. William Byron
  4. Ryan Blaney
  5. Joey Logano
  6. Kyle Larson
  7. Ross Chastain
  8. Kevin Harvick
  9. Denny Hamlin
  10. Christopher Bell

In addition to the power rankings, NASCAR.com also recently provided an update on the drivers with the best odds to claim the title. It’s a bit different than the power rankings:

  • Kyle Larson: 5-1
  • Kyle Busch: 6-1
  • William Byron: 7-1
  • Denny Hamlin: 8-1
  • Martin Truex Jr.: 8-1
  • Chase Elliott: 10-1
  • Christopher Bell: 10-1
  • Joey Logano: 11-1
  • Ryan Blaney: 12-1
  • Ross Chastain: 14-1

Not many drivers are running as well as Busch and Truex at the moment. Both drivers have finished inside the top-six spots in each of the last three races. Both have taken home checkered flags in that stretch, too.

Busch won the Enjoy Illinois 300 at Gateway Motorsports Park two weekends ago, followed by a second-place finish at Sonoma this past Sunday. He finished sixth in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Truex took home the checkered flag at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma, his fourth win at the track all-time. Additionally, he finished fifth in the Enjoy Illinois 300 and placed third in the Coca-Cola 600.

It’s easy to see why NASCAR.com has the two drivers in the top two spots of the power rankings heading to Nashville.

FOX Sports writer Bob Pockrass also likes what the two NASCAR drivers have done on the track recently. This week, he listed Truex in the No. 1 spot of his power rankings, with Busch coming in third. Separating the two drivers was Kyle Larson.

Sunday, NASCAR ventures to Nashville Superspeedway for the Ally 400. The green flag waves at 7 p.m. ET with the event airing on NBC.
