NASCAR taking extra precautions amid frigid temperatures in Atlanta

Tonight, temperatures in Atlanta are set to dip to around 25 degrees and that could pose a risk for NASCAR teams at the track. Teams are concerned that engines could be affected by the frigid weather overnight.
To keep everyone happy, NASCAR has found a solution at Atlanta. The Cup and Xfinity Series garages will be heated overnight with propane heaters. Truck Series teams will keep their vehicles in haulers overnight to keep them safe.
NASCAR has to make adjustments like this depending on the weather and the venue. Everyone better be on their best behavior and not make any unapproved adjustments.
Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports shared the information earlier today. He included pictures of the heaters that will keep the garages warm.
When it comes to fluids and engines and body panels, every little inch or fraction of an inch can make a big difference in performance. The cold does things to the cars and, apparently, the engines, that everyone wants to avoid. Good on NASCAR for getting proactive and staying on top of things.
Already we have had Truck Series qualifying and most of Xfinity Series qualifying. The action is already starting and soon we will be back to racing. These weeks go by so quickly once the season gets going. Blink and you’ll miss it.

Competing full-time this year for the No. 81 team, Connor Mosack is off to a great start. MHR had a number of quick trucks in qualifying with Tyler Ankrum, Jack Wood, and Daniel Hemric all making the top-10 in qualifying as well.
Grant Enfinger will join Connor Mosack on the front row. Daniel Hemric, Rajah Caruth, Jack Wood, Jake Garcia, Tyler Ankrum, Stewart Friesen, Kyle Busch, and Ben Rhodes are the rest of the top-10.
Tomorrow’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race will be on FS1 at 1:30 PM EST. Last season this race was won by Kyle Busch. Ty Majeski and Corey Heim gave chase but were unable to take Rowdy down.
This season, he’s back. Busch won the race after qualifying P7 in 2024, he’s going to try to win the race from P9 this time around.
