This weekend the NASCAR circus heads to Homestead-Miami Speedway with all three national series. A lot of action. There is currently a grass fire going on in the Miami area that, as of right now, will not affect the racing schedule this week.

NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series teams are aware of the fire. It doesn’t look like things are going to be delayed by the wildfire.

Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports has checked with teams in all three national series. According to Pockrass, none of those teams are making changes to travel plans or other scheduling.

“Checked with teams in all three series last night and this morning and they have been given no indication of any changes to the Homestead schedule,” Pockrass wrote. “Teams that planned on leaving this morning are leaving as planned.”

How poetic would it be if the NASCAR rain magnet brought a shower big enough to put out this grass fire? I’m mostly joking, of course. The good news is that Miami-Dade County has not issued evacuations. They also don’t believe there is an immediate threat to residents.

What we are going to get is a lot of wall-ripping action. A triple-header weekend is exactly what this track needs. We see great racing every time NASCAR goes to Homestead and this weekend won’t be any different.

It all starts on Friday with the Truck Series practice and qualifying sessions. The Truck Series will race tomorrow night at 8:00 PM ET on FOX. Saturday is Xfinity Series and Cup Series practice and qualifying. The night will end with the Xfinity Series racing on The CW at 4:00 PM ET.

Finally, on Sunday at 3:00 PM ET, the Cup Series will race 400 miles. NASCAR at Homestead is going to be a thrill.

NASCAR Cup Series favorites at Homestead-Miami

When it comes to the favorites for this weekend’s NASCAR race at Homestead, there are a few names to watch. Denny Hamlin has the most wins among active drivers at Homestead but hasn’t won there since 2020.

When it comes to the Next Gen era, Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, and Tyler Reddick are generally seen as the best of the best at Homestead. The three of them each have a single win at the track.

Coming off his win, Josh Berry could be a driver to watch. He proved it on a 1.5-mile track last season. Wood Brothers Racing is going to be the talk of the town this season as long as the 21 car keeps running up front.
