NASCAR to move TV coverage of Ally 400 finish at Nashville Superspeedway to USA

Sunday’s NASCAR race at Nashville Superspeedway will be moving to a different TV network before it comes to an end. NBC announced that coverage for the Ally 400 will be moving to the USA Network and NBC Sports App at 7:30 p.m. ET. The move was made because NBC will be showing the U.S. Olympic Trials from 7:30 to 11 p.m. ET.
The race was delayed for over an hour due to rain. Fans are not happy with the move because not everyone gets the USA Network.
One person wrote on X, “This is what’s wrong with the whole sport could care less about the fans. Let’s move the race to a channel that not everyone gets.”
“Well here we go again. Get so tired of these networks that only want the races if it fits their schedule,” another person added on X.
NBC Sports began covering NASCAR races for the 2024 season earlier this month when the Cup Series and Xfinity Series were in Iowa. The Iowa and New Hampshire races were on USA, and Sunday’s race is the first one for NBC this year. In November, NASCAR and NBC Sports agreed to a seven-year contract extension of their media rights agreement.

NASCAR and NBC Sports are longtime partners
“We are thrilled that the NASCAR champion will continue to be crowned on our platforms for years to come,” NBC Sports President Rick Cordella said in a statement. “Whether it’s the unpredictability of a superspeedway, a Playoff cutoff race, or the championship finale, NBC Sports will use its wide array of platforms to present the dramatic conclusion to every NASCAR season for what will be 17 years at the end of this extension.”
“For a decade, NBC Sports has delivered some of the biggest moments in NASCAR to millions of fans, including their broadcasts of the playoffs and our season finale championship race,” NASCAR President Steve Phelps said. “They continue to be a tremendous partner and we can’t wait to watch the drama and excitement unfold with race fans everywhere across NBC platforms for another seven years.”
The extension begins in 2025, and the final 14 NASCAR Cup Series races, including the playoffs and championship race, will be shown on NBC, USA Network and Peacock. NBC Sports and NASCAR have been media partners since 2001. At the time, NBC aired the second half of the season, including the championship for six seasons. This season will be the final year of a 10-year agreement with NBC Sports and NASCAR.
