NASCAR has unveiled a new trophy for the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on Sunday honoring Bobby Allison, and it’s as sweet as it sounds.

The Bobby Allison Memorial Trophy will be what the victor of The Clash receives, and it’s something to behold for motorsports fans across the world. Check out the trophy below, as @NASCARClash on X shared the memorable design to social media on Friday evening.

As you can tell, the incredible trophy will honor of the late NASCAR Hall of Famer. It’s only fitting for it to be given out to the winner of The Clash at Bowman Gray, as Allison is a former multi-time winner at “The Madhouse.”

“Few drivers are as engrained in the history of Bowman Gray Stadium than the legendary Bobby Allison,” said Justin Swilling, NASCAR’s Project Manager for the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, via Jayski’s. “We reached out to Wood Brothers Racing, who shared photos of previous NASCAR Cup Series trophies awarded to Bowman Gray Stadium winners, and Jostens designed a trophy that lived up to that legacy.

“When the Wood Brothers suggested we name the trophy after such a legendary figure in Bowman Gray Stadium history as Bobby Allison, it made perfect sense.”

Additionally, the trophy itself is a marvelous Jostens design standing 31 inches tall,” according to Jayski’s, “It is made of handcrafted wood with a rich, black finish and black powder-coated metal cup. The custom gold metal columns accent a 24-karat gold, hand-polished car and Cook Out Clash logo cut by a 600w laser.

“Jostens also designed the Cook Out Madhouse Classic Trophy, which is an exquisite 25-inch tall masterpiece of handcrafted wood and laser-cut aluminum.”

All told, whoever becomes the first recipient of The Bobby Allison Memorial Trophy will certainly be honored to capture the incredible memento. It’ll be hard-earned as well, as Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic is predicting tempers will flare at the short-track.

“I honestly expect quintessential Bowman Gray,” Bianchi stated, via The Teardown regarding what he’s expecting during The Clash. “It’s hard to pass there. Really, it’s the low line. The low groove is the way to go. And to make that work, oftentimes you have to move somebody out of the way. I expect that to happen. … I think you’re going to have to move people. I think it’s going to be physical. I think it’s going to come down to the last few laps.

“The question is, what is somebody going to do to win the race? And in the big picture, does it matter? Is it worth angering everybody to win a race that’s an exhibition and doesn’t count? I don’t know. But I think you’re going to see some fireworks. I really do. I don’t know if it’s going to be the level that we’re used to seeing at Bowman Gray, but I do think there’s going to be some hurt feelings afterwards.”

The Clash may simply be an exhibition race, but it’s easy to see why each driver will be racing their hearts out on Sunday evening. NASCAR is back, and it’ll serve as the perfect appetizer for another highly-anticipated season in 2025.
