Former LSU star Dylan Crews was the No. 2 pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, and he’s wasted little time in making sure everybody knows he’s going to be a superstar at the professional level. He’s been scorching hot lately for the Fredericksburg Nationals –hitting .351 with 5 home runs and 24 RBIs in 13 games there.

After his hot start, the Nationals decided to promote him to the AA affiliate of the Nationals — Harrisburg, according to Mark Zuckman.

The Harrisburg Senators are located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Their next game is on August 22nd at 6:30 p.m. EST against the Reading Fightin’ Phils.

Crews put together a banner season in 2023, hitting .426 with 18 home runs and 70 RBI to help lead LSU to a national championship. His efforts earned him the Golden Spikes Award as the top player in college baseball, and he beat out teammate Paul Skenes for the honor. He’s the second LSU player to ever win the Golden Spikes Award, joining Ben McDonald.

In LSU’s College World Series-clinching victory over Florida, Crews — like many of the Tigers — had a monster day at the plate. He went 4-for-6 with an RBI and three runs scored to help LSU to the 18-4 blowout victory to bring home the seventh CWS title in program history.

Crews was also named the SEC Player of the Year

Crews was also named the SEC Player of the Year in May.

He reflected on being named the SEC Player of the Year, taking some time to shout out everyone who worked behind the scenes to help him get to where he is now.

“It feels great, it feels great,” the LSU star told the media. “You know, it shows that the hard work is definitely paying off. You know, and the people that helped me out to get to where I am today, it means just as much to them as it does to me. So I’m very thankful, very blessed.

“I’m just trying to soak in each and every day, and looking back I think this is something I’m definitely going to think about, and just have a great memory of all these moments out here. I’m very thankful for it.”

It won’t be surprising in the slightest bit to see Crews dominate at the MLB level, he was one of the best power hitters in college baseball history for a reason.
