On Sunday, No. 4 seed Duke and No. 11 seed NC State will go head-to-head in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. It’s not new ground for Duke, which reached the Final Four in the 2021-22 season. However, NC State has not reached the Elite Eight since the 1985-86 season under head coach Jim Valvano.

Duke has turned its season around after suffering an early exit in the ACC Tournament. Most recently, the Blue Devils stunned No. 1 Houston, securing a 54-51 victory. In the win, Kyle Filipowski was spectacular, tallying 16 points and nine rebounds.

NC State has taken an even more unconventional path to the Elite Eight. After a miraculous run through the ACC Tournament, NC State has not slowed down. Now, as the only double-digit seed remaining in the Big Dance, NC State will look to continue to make history.

Odds for NC State vs. Duke

Evidently, Las Vegas isn’t expecting NC State’s jaw-dropping postseason run to go any further. The Blue Devils are currently 6.5-point favorites against the Wolfpack, according to DraftKings. Further, the site listed the money line for Duke at -285 while NC State sits at +230. The point total over/under currently sits at 142.

It’s not a surprise to see oddsmakers’ confidence in the Blue Devils. The team won its first two games in the NCAA Tournament by a combined 55 points. With a win over Houston, Duke looks dangerous as it heads to the final stretch of the postseason.
