NC State vs. Tennessee odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

After a pair of 1-0 starts to the season, NC State and Tennessee will meet in an ACC-SEC contest that should tell us a considerable deal more about each team than the opening weekend did.
The Volunteers easily dusted Chattanooga, looking like an offensive juggernaut in a 69-3 win. Meanwhile, the Wolfpack put away a pesky Western Carolina squad for a comfortable double-digit win.
Now, according to lines listed by FanDuel, Tennessee is favored to beat NC State by 6.5 points. The over/under point total for the contest is set at 55.5 points.
That sets the expectation going into the game: There’s a lot of faith in Tennessee and its offensive dynamism under coach Josh Heupel. But NC State has been known for some terrific defensive performances. Can they make it a game? We’ll find out.

Tennessee was dominant from the start in its opener against UT-Chattanooga, with quarterback Nico Iamaleava looking every bit the part of a former five-star prospect.
Iamaleava set a school record with 314 passing yards in the first half, then sat the entire second half. He threw three touchdown passes, with two going to Dont’e Thornton and one going to Ethan Davis.

The Volunteers also had things cooking on the ground, too. Running back Dylan Sampson found the end zone three times.
It was a similar story statistically for NC State in the season opener against Western Carolina. Quarterback Grayson McCall threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns, though he did throw one interception.
Receiver Kevin Concepcion caught nine passes for 121 yards and was the recipient of all three of McCall’s touchdown passes. Running back Jordan Waters ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Needless to say, both teams will be entering the game in Charlotte with some serious confidence. That should make for a highly compelling matchup.
NC State and Tennessee are set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday, with a national broadcast on ABC.
