Ohio State was idle after the Buckeyes’ 32-31 loss to Oregon on the road in Week 7. They’ll look to regroup against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at home on Saturday.

The Huskers, meanwhile, have had a promising start to the season under second-year head coach Matt Rhule and freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola.

Heading into game week, Ohio State has opened as a 23.5-point favorite over Nebraska at home, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The over/under point spread is set at 48.5.

One of the biggest criticisms that the Buckeyes faced after the 32-31 loss to the Ducks was missed tackles.

Moreover, Ohio State’s inconsistent tackling lowered their chances of knocking the ball loose. In the loss, Ohio State committed two turnovers, both of which were fumbles. In comparison, Oregon never turned the ball over.

The Buckeyes will look to have a better effort from their pass rush as well, as Ohio State didn’t record a single sack in the loss. For reference, the Buckeyes entered the game with 17 sacks, ranking in the top 20 in the nation, OSU only tallied two tackles for loss against the Ducks, knocking them back just three total yards.

Whether the Huskers’ offense can attack these weaknesses, or if the Buckeyes clean up their form tackling remains to be seen but may be the x-factor in the matchup on Saturday.

If Nebraska can pull off the massive upset, it will be the signature win Matt Rhule and company have been looking for since he took over the program ahead of the 2023 season.
