A young Earnhardt is racing around and his name is Wyatt Miller. He is the nephew of Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kelley’s son. Miller is just 12 years old and already making a name for himself in the junior sprints. His victory this weekend at the Tulsa Shootout proved he might have what it takes to make it in NASCAR one day.

In just his third year at the Tulsa Shootout, the grandson of The Intimidator takes home his first Golen Driller. The young Miller is the son of Kelley Earnhardt Miller and LW Miller. With a load of expectations, he’s off to a great start in his racing career.

Not only did Miller win the pole, he led all 20 laps of his race to secure the win. For those who don’t know, Wyatt already has a nickname, “The Thriller.”

Now, The Thriller has got a Driller.

Wyatt Miller looks like an Earnhardt. He races like an Earnhardt. And, if you look closely at him in the red flag interview above, he’s got that look in his eye. That same, mischievous and playful gaze both Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. had in their racing days.

“No I definitely didn’t think it was that easy. … We had a really good car,” Miller said. “I want to thank Chad Boat Industries, Carl and Mike, everyone that helps me, Brandt Agriculture, and everyone else.”

When asked about the early race contact that sent his competitor to the middle of the pack, Miller just smiled through it and answered only how an Earnhardt could.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. sends congratulations to nephew after big win

Of course, Dale Earnhardt Jr. wasn’t going to let this go by without a little bragging on his nephew. If you noticed, Wyatt has the Bass Pro firesuit with the JR Motorsports logo on it as well. And, his car sponsor is Brandt who has been with JR Motorsports for years now.

After seeing his nephew pick up the big win, Dale Jr. was more than proud.

Racing, even more than other sports, is a family thing. Despite chatter about nepotism, this is a kid that has earned his place. Even if his uncle is Dale Earnhardt Jr. Now, he’s still racing junior sprints, but at this point, with all of the sponsors and eyes on him, he might as well be a professional.

Funding helps get you on the track. Wins come from talent, practice, and perseverance. Wyatt Miller is an Earnhardt, even if he doesn’t have the last name. One look at his eyes behind his helmet visor tells you all you need to know.
