Netflix releases first look at Full Swing season 2
Following its triumphant first season, Full Swing is finally nearing its return. Streaming giant Netflix released a first-look trailer for the second season this week, which features one of the stars of season one – Joel Dahmen. Unfortunately for the fan favorite, the popularity he gained from his appearance in season one hasn’t translated into improved play on the links.
Dahmen is currently ranked 162 in the World Golf Rankings after consistently ranking in the top 100 over the past four years. Although he and his caddy, Geno Bonnalie, have significantly more fans now, it’s not always a good thing, as the 35-year-old describes in the first look clip.
“It’s one of the downsides of fame,” Dahmen says as the trailer shows him airing out frustrations with a well-timed ‘F*** you.’ “You can’t struggle in silence the same way you used to. Me being famous and having all the popularity and playing the worst golf of my career, uh, it sucks.”
“It’s definitely new having so much attention,” Bonnalie added. “And I think that’s all due to the success of Full Swing.“
Season one of Full Swing showed a behind-the-rope look at the British Open Championship, The Players Championship, Masters, PGA, the U.S. Open and the FedExCup Playoffs.

PGA-LIV merger drama captured by ‘Full Swing’
The first season of Full Swing dropped on Netflix back in February. Season two drops in early 2024. The arranged marriage between the PGA and LIV, along with the DP Tour, should be a compelling plot line. Season one featured storylines from the top names in golf. Long-time friends Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas were part of the season one debut episode.
Other golfers who got some face time in Full Swing included Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka, Ian Poulter, Joel Dahmen, Matt Fitzpatrick, Dustin Johnson, Tony Finau, Sahith Theegala, Mito Pereira and Joaquin Niemann.
Pro golfers were stunned in June when news broke of the PGA merger with controversial upstart LIV. And the cameras were running to catch all that reaction.
Naturally, it’s moments like those that the creators of Full Swing live for. Chad Mumm, the series producer, tweeted, “You better believe we were filming when this broke.”
