Netflix releases new 'Happy Gilmore 2' trailer

Netflix released a new trailer for Happy Gilmore 2, which is due for a release on July 25th. The sequel comes out nearly 30 years after the original hit.
A lot of the characters are back with actors reprising their roles. Not only that, there are plenty of celebrity cameos in the film, which include Travis Kelce and John Daly.
Adam Sandler, who’s had a deal with Netflix and released films and specials on the streaming service, made the decision to bring the sequel right to streaming. You can see the trailer below.
As far as the cast goes, it’s a solid one of course. Sandler is notably returning, as is Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit and Ben Stiller as Hal, the nursing home worker.
Sandler previously confirmed that Kelce would have a role in the film. The Kansas City Chiefs star made quite the impression, as well.
“Travis, he mentioned it and so we have a nice something for Travis,” Sandler said. “He’s going to come by and he’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy and funny, cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

‘Happy Gilmore 2’ just months away from release
Kelce expressed interest in appearing in the film during his New Heights podcast alongside his brother, Jason Kelce. That apparently caught Sandler’s attention, and he made it into the teaser trailer at Christmas.
“I didn’t even know there was a job opening for ‘Happy Gilmore 2,’ but if there is I’ll be a fu*king extra,” Kelce said. “Anything I can do to get around Happy Gilmore or an Adam Sandler film or set, count me in. Obviously been a huge fan of ‘The Sandman,’ but yes. This is exactly what it says it is: a conspiracy theory. “Who knows? Theories can come true. Theories can be true and just people don’t know about it. So, I might even be in the talking [for the film] and nobody knows about it. But I could also not be in the talking so.”
Netflix revealed which PGA Tour stars will star alongside Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore 2. Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas are among the group, as is Will Zalatoris – playing into the joke from golf fans that he was the caddie in the original film.
Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa and Tony Finau were also shown in the sneak peek released in early February. It’s safe to say, Sandler is pulling out all the stops as he revives the 1996 fan favorite.
