New Ravens running back Mike Davis has over $100,000 worth of belongings stolen from home
The Baltimore Ravens officially signed running back Mike Davis to a one-year deal on Tuesday. The past week has been a bit of a hectic one for Davis, though, as his Atlanta home was robbed last week according to ESPN’s Michael Rothstein.
Davis, who played with the Atlanta Falcons last season, tweeted about the robbery over the weekend. According to Rothstein, over $100,000 worth of items was stolen from the home of Davis. One item that was stolen was a pair of cleats that he wore to honor his father, who died in 2019.
“The devil works hard but I ain’t gone let it ruin me,” tweeted Davis. “Some youngins broke into my crib and stole my jewelry. But the most important thing they stole was my cleats with my dad name and cancer cause on it. Now that hurts.”
According to the police report that was obtained by Rothstein and ESPN, a number of other pieces of jewelry were included as stolen items.
“Among the items listed as stolen are a diamond necklace with the No. 28, valued at $25,000, and another diamond necklace with “MD,” valued at $25,000,” said Rothstein. “Two Cartier bracelets, four tennis chains and a Gucci handbag were also listed among the items taken from Davis’ home.”

Davis could be an important pickup in the Ravens backfield
Davis played at South Carolina from 2012 to 2014, where he turned into a star for the Gamecocks. As a freshman in 2012, Davis had 52 rushing attempts for 275 yards and two touchdowns. In 2013, he had 203 carries for 1,183 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Davis then ran for 982 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior, and added 70 receptions for 755 yards and two scores in his collegiate career.
He was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, and has also spent time with the Falcons, Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, and Seattle Seahawks in his career.
Davis has mainly been a backup in his career, but he started 12 games for the Panthers in 2020, rushing for 642 yards and six touchdowns with 59 receptions for 373 yards and two scores. Last season in Atlanta, Davis started eight games and rushed for over 500 yards and three touchdowns.
With the Ravens, Davis will serve as valuable depth in a running back room that was run down by injuries last season. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards figure to lead the backfield if healthy, but both are coming off of season-ending injuries.
