New details emerge on Shedeur Sanders, Tyler Warren prank calls, third player called during 2025 NFL Draft

Within an hour of FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reporting former Penn State tight end Tyler Warren also received a prank call from an unknown number on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft, news of a third victim was revealed Sunday, according to NBC Sports’ Mike Florio. This all comes two days after Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was pranked Friday night by someone impersonating New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis during his draft free-fall.
Citing a “league source,” Florio reported a third unnamed NFL prospect received a prank call during the three-day event, only this one happened 30 minutes after the player received a real call from an NFL team announcing they were drafting him. The prank caller told this prospect that they were being subsequently traded, according to Florio, though no other information was provided.
Florio also reported the NFL is currently working under the suspicion the alleged prankster — or pranksters — gained access to the email account of someone connected to the league who was provided access to the list of phone numbers for all NFL Draft prospects.
“Whether and to what extent that creates an employment problem for whoever failed to secure the informaiton remains to be seen,” Florio concluded.
Shedeur Sanders prank call: NFL reportedly investigating how number was leaked during 2025 Draft
The NFL is reportedly looking into how Sanders’ private number — and any others — were leaked and then used for the prank calls, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter. Sanders said that Boost Mobile sent him a specific phone for the draft and the number was only provided to NFL teams.

“It didn’t really have an impact on me because it was just like, I mean, okay, like I don’t feed into negativity or I don’t feed into that stuff,” Sanders said. “You’ve seen [it on the] YouTube video. My reaction to it, I don’t — it is what it is. I think of course it is childish. Of course, I feel like it was a childish act, but everybody does childish things here and there.”
Warren, another potential Top 10 pick who some NFL pundits had mocked to go to the New York Jets at No. 7 overall, reportedly received his prank call when the Jets were on the clock. Except the Jets selected former Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou at No. 7. Of course, the former Nittany Lions star wouldn’t have to wait nearly as long as Sanders to get a real call from an NFL team when the Indianapolis Colts selected him seven picks later at No. 14 overall Thursday night.
Sanders was infamously pranked during Day 2 of the draft by two college-aged men on Friday evening. The prank call occurred during a disappointing draft slide that saw the projected Top 5 pick falling to the fifth round on Saturday, when the Cleveland Browns selected the former Colorado quarterback with the No. 144 overall pick. Video of the prank was released Saturday, showing a young man wearing an Ole Miss sweater impersonating New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis.
