WATCH: Mac Jones interception supposedly hits Sky Cam wire on Monday Night Football
Mac Jones got three drives for the New England Patriots on Mondy Night Football, not having his best night. Head coach Bill Belichick pulled Jones after an interception, leaving Bailey Zappe as the quarterback vs. Chicago. Belichick claimed it was due to health reasons but Belichick also said Jones would get second-half playing time.
Nonetheless, an interception was viewed as a final straw on what seemed to be an underthrown pass from the former first-rounder. A video on Twitter emerged showing that Jones may have not done so though and instead, hit a piece of ESPN equipment while targeting tight end Jonnu Smith.

In slow motion, it certainly seems as if Jones hit the Sky Cam wire ESPN runs through the stadium during every broadcast. You can slightly see the ball change direction, while the wire moves after making contact.
You can see the whole video below.
Jones did not reenter the game after the interception and spent the rest of the night on the bench as New England fell to 3-4 on the season. An ankle injury had kept Jones out for nearly a month but based on how he was moving in the pocket, it was not a factor.

Zappe quickly sparked some energy in the offense before coming back down to earth. The Patriots were not good offensively all night, no matter who the signal caller was.
Jones’ final stat line read three of six passing for 13 yards and the interception. There’s no saying whether or not the Bears could have forced the turnover had the ball missed the Sky Cam wire. But it’s hard to wonder how much of a factor it played.
Moving forward, only Belichick knows who will be the starting quarterback for New England. An important AFC East showdown against the New York Jets is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
