The New England Patriots are looking to get help at the wide receiver position, and The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reports they are in the market for some big names.

New England has called the Arizona Cardinals about superstar DeAndre Hopkins and the Denver Broncos about Jerry Jeudy. The Patriots also attended the workout for Odell Beckham Jr.

Howe added that while they are in the mix for top wide receiver talent, the Patriots are going to pay close attention to how much each of them cost.

Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien coached Hopkins in Houston before he traded him to Arizona in 2020.

New England went 8-9 last season. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson was their leading pass catcher.

Hopkins played in only nine games last season but he still managed to catch 64 passes for 717 yards and three touchdowns. For comparison, the Patriots’ top wide receiver, Jakobi Meyers, had 67 catches for 804 yards in 14 games.

Jeudy had 67 catches for 972 yards and six touchdowns.

Howe also reported on Wednesday that the Broncos are looking for a first-round pick in exchange for Jeudy.
