The Patriots are hosting former Michigan star Jabrill Peppers on a visit on Monday. After famously being traded from the Browns to the New York Giants as part of the trade that sent Odell Beckham Jr. to Cleveland, Peppers could be moving on to his third NFL squad.

“The Patriots are hosting former Giants and Browns S Jabrill Peppers on a visit today, per source,” tweeted Field Yates of ESPN. “Peppers played for Joe Judge in 2020-2021, so there’s familiarity already. The 26-year old brings plenty of defensive versatility, something New England always covets.”

As Yates mentioned, former Giants head coach Joe Judge has returned to New England as an assistant. Peppers showed his immense versatility at Michigan, and the Giants utilized him in multiple different facets of the game under Judge. However, injuries piled up for Peppers, and he was never able to put it all together in New York.

Still, the former Wolverines star is just 26 years old. Under the leadership of Bill Belichick, perhaps a different gear could be reached for Peppers.

In his career, Peppers has accumulated four interceptions, four forced fumbles, 333 total tackles and 4.5 sacks. Last season with the Giants, the former Michigan star only played in six games, amassing 29 tackles, 1.0 sack and one pass deflection on the season.

Nevertheless, the potential remains high for Peppers. He’s proven to be a solid defensive piece, as well as a special teams difference-maker. With whatever team he plays for in 2022, perhaps we could see Peppers get some burn on the offensive side of the football.

Jabrill Peppers looks to be on his way to his third NFL team. However, if the former Michigan star does in-fact sign with the Patriots, it’ll be the best fit for his NFL career yet. Time will tell if a deal is reached for Peppers.
