Kayshon Boutte scores his first NFL touchdown against Green Bay Packers
Former LSU Tigers star wide receiver Kayshon Boutte just got his first official NFL touchdown.
With less than a minute remaining of the second quarter of their preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe found Boutte on a deep slant on the left side hash. After making the catch in traffic, the former Tigers standout turned on the speed, boat-racing every defender in the vicinity on the way to a 42-yard touchdown.
You can check out the pitching catch between Zappe and Boutte for the touchdown strike in the video below.
The 40-yard touchdown grab is Boutte’s only grab of the Patriots’ second preseason game thus far. Still, it was a big one as it helped tie the score at 14-14. However, Green Bay would use the remaining time and the half efficiently as they drove down the field, kicking a field goal to take a 17-14 lead into the half.
Boutte finished the game with two catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Patriots Packers preseason game ended early
Unfortunately, the game did not end on a bright note. The Packers and Patriots was suspended prior to its conclusion, the Patriots announced. The decision came mutually-decided from both teams and officials after a scary injury to Patriots defensive back Isaiah Bolden.
Bolden coming in for a run-of-the-mill tackle in the open field. But as the ball carrier cut upfield, fellow Patriot defender Calvin Munson came through the space and delivered a crushing, incidental blow to Bolden’s head.

After Bolden pirouetted to the ground, he stayed down motionless until he was carted off the field and then left the stadium in an ambulance.
Bolden “had feeling in all his extremities, but has been taken to a local hospital for further tests and observation,” the Patriots said on X/Twitter shortly after the game was ended early.
Following that moment in the second half, both teams came to the decision to halt proceedings for the day with around 10 minutes to play. The game ended with the Patriots leading, 21-17.
The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman reported that a stabilizing board was brought out for Bolden.
Bolden, a rookie, was a seventh-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Patriots out of Jackson State.
