New England Patriots select Andres Borregales in sixth round of 2025 NFL Draft

The New England Patriots selected Miami kicker Andres Borregales in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He is now in the NFL after spending the last four seasons with the Hurricanes.
Borregales made an immediate impact as soon as he joined Miami in 2021. During that season, the Miami native was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention after making 17 of his 21 field goal attempts and all 45 extra points. In 2022, Borregales was an All-ACC Honorable Mention selection again after making 17 of his 20 field goal attempts and all 32 extra points.
Andres Borregales was selected to the All-ACC First Team in 2023, making 22 of his 26 field goal attempts and 44 of 45 extra points. Last year, Borregales was selected to the All-ACC First Team again after making 18 of 19 field goals and all 62 of his extra-point attempts. His 94.7 field goal percentage was the fifth-best in the FBS.
“To my brothers, words can’t describe how much you all mean to me,” Borregales wrote in a post shared on Instagram when he announced he was entering the NFL Draft. “From the friendly arguments to the funny moments in the locker room will forever be engraved in my memory. You guys have made my college experience amazing, and I’m blessed to be able to call you my family.”

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Andres Borregales
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com gave an analysis of Borregales for his draft profile. Borregales was projected to be selected in the fifth or sixth round, which is very high for a kicker prospect.
“Four-year kicker who leaves Miami with a reputation for being accurate and clutch,” Zierlein wrote. “The keys to Borregales’ accuracy are his repeatable stroke and consistent ball-striking. He doesn’t have a cannon for a right leg but he has enough power to hit from distance at an admirable clip. He has a good chance to win a pro job as a rookie.”
