Wide receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. has a new home, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. The Miami Dolphins cut the former Kentucky Wildcats star on Tuesday to get to the 53-man roster limit. Now, he is signing a deal to join the New England Patriots practice squad for the 2022 season.

On Wednesday, Bowden shared a hint that he was on his way to his new team on Twitter:

The former third-round NFL Draft pick initially started his career with the Las Vegas Raiders. However, a few weeks into fall camp, they moved him and a sixth-round pick for a fourth-rounder from Miami. With the Dolphins, Bowden posted 28 receptions for 211 yards during the 2020 season.

Despite two years in the league, the versatile receiver has appeared in just 10 games so far. He didn’t play during the 2021 season as he dealt with a hamstring injury. There was hope that Miami would hold on to Bowden for his ability to contribute to special teams or that they would find a trade partner for him before the deadline.

During the preseason in Miami, Bowden caught two touchdown passes, but ultimately, he didn’t make the final roster cut this week. He had three catches for 55 yards and a touchdown in the preseason opener vs. Tampa Bay and a 39-yard touchdown vs. the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday before the cut.
