New England Patriots sign offensive lineman Darryl Williams
The New England Patriots have signed offensive lineman Darryl Williams, the team announced Tuesday. Details on the length and amount of the contract have yet to be released.
Williams went undrafted in 2020 upon graduating from Mississippi State, but later signed with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent. He did not make the roster out of preseason that year, but the Chiefs still liked what they saw out of him enough to add him to their practice squad.
Williams signed a futures contract earlier this year. However, he was waived by the Chiefs last week.
Williams was a a three-year starter in Starkville from 2017-19. During his senior season, he played 755 snaps from scrimmage, the second-most of any player on the team. He also helped pave the way for Bulldogs running back Kylin Hill to lead the SEC that season with 1,350 yards rushing.
Darryl Williams joins a Patriots interior offensive line group that includes David Andrews, James Ferentz and Kody Russey at center. They also have guards Cole Strange, Michael Onwenu, Will Sherman and Chasen Hines, among others.

Patriots sign former Texas star Lil’Jordan Humphrey
Former Texas Longhorns standout wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey has signed with the New England Patriots on a one-year deal, according to multiple reports.
Humphrey was originally signed to the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2019. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder would go on to play in 10 games for the Saints last season where he hauled in 13 catches for 249 yards and two touchdowns. In the two seasons prior, Humphrey appeared in only eight games where he totaled three receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown.
While Humprey would enjoy an immediate jump in his production in New England, he joins a very talented and very stacked wide receiver room with the likes of DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne, Nelson Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, Ty Montgomery, Tre Nixon, N’Keal Harry, Kristian Wilkerson and Malcolm Perry.
