Another update from New Hampshire Motor Speedway. There is every intention to get the NASCAR Cup Series race going again. If the track can survive the latest onslaught of rain, then we might get to the other side of this thing.

Tyler Reddick is leading at the moment. If the race is called short, then he will be declared the winner. Everyone wants to see the wet weather tires, but NASCAR kept teams on pit road as the weather moved into the area.

NASCAR hopes to race more at New Hampshire Motor Speedway tonight. 8:30 is probably as late as they can race with the sunlight available.

NHMS is monitoring the situation and hopes to get things going again.

NASCAR fans are waiting to hear when the race will start again. It is clear that officials want the race to continue. If not, they could have called it half an hour ago. At this point, things are looking good as far as racing again is concerned.

Let’s get this track cleared off just enough for these wet-weather tires. Then, let it rip. Tyler Reddick won’t like it, but that just means he’ll have to earn it the old-fashioned way.

If we could end the race on wet tires it would be the first time ever in NASCAR. I’d love to see it happen, too.

Jet dryers are on the track. NASCAR believes that there is a window to get a considerable amount of laps in. Maybe not all 82 laps, but as many as they can get. If spray is low, visibility is clear, and the track is good enough to drive on, then we are all good.

For a while, it felt like NASCAR was wasting people’s time. As the weather got worse and worse by the minute, it almost felt like they wanted an excuse to call the race after all of that time.

However, credit to New Hampshire Motor Speedway and NASCAR for sticking it out. After the Coca-Cola 600 debacle, maybe NASCAR wanted to give a bone to fans. Wait it out and just see what happens.

If everything goes well, we could get a great finish. Wet weather tires will last 30-40 laps depending on how hard drivers are racing. 82 laps to go in total, let’s get down to 20 to go and swap to the slicks for a real wild finish. If the track dries, that is.
