New Jersey Police resolve bomb threat nearby New York Jets' stadium
Officials in New Jersey have officially cleared The American Dream Mall on Friday following a police investigation of a bomb threat. Governor Phil Murphy posted on X on Friday that after a brief evacuation, the mall has now been reopened for business.
The incident could have had an impact on the preparations for Friday’s matchup between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. The mall is located at the New Jersey Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, which is the home of both the Jets and the Giants.
“The matter is still under investigation, but law enforcement has determined there is no imminent threat at American Dream at this time. The New Jersey State Police has reopened the mall,” Murphy posted less than an hour after the mall evacuation.
The police and the mall have yet to respond to requests for comments from Reuters.
According to the Jets on social media, the parking lots for the stadium will open at 10 a.m. ET on Friday.
“The New Jersey State Police confirmed that the situation at American Dream has been resolved,” the Jets posted. “The stadium is not affected and our parking lots will open at 10 am.”
Miami, now 7-3 on the season, travels to East Rutherford to take on the 4-6 Jets for a 3:00 p.m. ET kickoff at MetLife. It is the NFL’s first-ever Black Friday game, with streaming available from Amazon Prime.

De’Von Achane out for Jets vs Dolphins
After suffering a knee injury in the Dolphins’ game against the Raiders last week after one carry, De’Von Achane is out for the Week 12 matchup against the Jets. It would have been the rookie’s second game back from IR but unfortunately, he’ll have to wait for his triumphant return.
The Dolphins listed Achane as questionable on their final injury report before today’s game. He practiced each day but was limited. And he’s one of eight players with that designation listed as their game status
Prior to going out with the injury, Achane ran for 151 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in the win over New York. At the time of his injury, he had 460 rushing yards, which was second in the NFL behind only Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers in rushing yards through five games (510). The 21-year-old has just 39 carries so far this season. However, he also has seven touchdowns, including two receiving touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the Jets will feature someone new leading to the offense. Coach Robert Saleh announced that Tim Boyle, a one-time backup to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, will start today for the Jets. Saleh benched Zach Wilson after Sunday’s showing.
