New Mexico State at Texas A&M odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch
As Texas A&M comes out of the bye week, a break from conference play awaits against New Mexico State. Ahead of the Week 12 matchup, the odds and early point spread have been released.
Texas A&M opened as 40.5-point favorites against NMSU, according to FanDuel. The over-under also opened at 54.5 points.
Texas A&M had an extra week to recover from its first conference loss of the season. The Aggies fell to South Carolina 44-20 in Week 10 to fall to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in SEC play. That dropped Mike Elko’s group into a tie for first place with Georgia, meaning the hopes for the league championship and College Football Playoff are alive and well.
As for New Mexico State, it’s been a rough go through the 2024 campaign. The Aggies got a win over Louisiana Tech to get on the board in Conference USA action, but took a 2-6 record into Week 11’s matchup with Western Kentucky.
New Mexico State and Texas A&M will square off Saturday at 7:45 p.m. ET. Here’s how to watch the matchup at Kyle Field.

One of the biggest moves of the year for Texas A&M came ahead of the South Carolina game. Elko opted to name Marcel Reed the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, moving Conner Weigman into a backup role. However, Texas A&M will be down an important piece the rest of the way as Le’Veon Moss suffered a season-ending injury against South Carolina.
As Elko looked back on the loss, he cited the trenches as the difference-maker. He also said the Aggies had to turn the page and never look the way they did against the Gamecocks ever again.
“Hats off to South Carolina,” Elko said. “They beat us. Beat us on the line of scrimmage, both sides of the ball. Controlled the game. Forced turnovers. Couldn’t run the ball, couldn’t tackle, couldn’t control the quarterback. So, we didn’t do any of the things you need to do to win a football game. That’s why we lost. So, we’ve got to get better. We’ve got to fix them and we’ve got to not ever play like that again.”
