New Orleans Saints to interview Eagles OC Kellen Moore for head coaching vacancy

The Philadelphia Eagles are heading to their second Super Bowl in three seasons, and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore could be the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network said the Saints plan to interview Moore for the head coaching position on Monday.
“The [Eagles] are on to Super Bowl LIX, and the [Saints] head coaching search now will accelerate,” Rapoport wrote on X. “They plan to conduct an in-person interview with OC Kellen Moore and likely will fly to Philly as soon as Monday to meet with him, sources tell The Insiders.”
Moore joined the Eagles this season after being the offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023. From 2019 to 2022. Moore was the offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys.
The plan is for the Saints to fly to Philadelphia to interview with Moore. Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk mentioned that no deal could become official between Moore and the Saints until after the Super Bowl.

Kellen Moore had success with the Eagles this season
The Eagles’ offense has seen a lot of success under Moore this season. Philadelphia finished seventh in scoring offense (27.2 points per game) and second in rushing offense (179.3 yards per game). Running back Saquon Barkley had a historic season, rushing for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns in 16 games.
“As an accomplished offensive coordinator, a former NFL player, and a Heisman finalist, Kellen has shown a tremendous ability to lead an offense at every level of the sport while gaining the trust and respect of his players and teammates,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said after the Eagles hired Moore in February of last year, per the team’s official website. “He is an incredibly smart football coach whose depth of knowledge of the game has helped him become a talented playcaller in this league. During Kellen’s tenure as an NFL coach, he has helped to develop some of the best quarterbacks in the league and directed some of its best offenses. We are thrilled to have Kellen join our team.”
Kellen Moore was a quarterback in the NFL from 2012 to 2017 playing for the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Boise State and was named WAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2009 and 2010.
