Wide receiver Allen Robinson is back where it all started in the state of Pennsylvania. One hundred and 38 miles away from where he starred at Penn State, Robinson is now gearing up for his 10th season in the league – and his first with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers acquired Robinson in a trade, which according to the veteran, he was “all for.”

“Everything’s going well,” Robinson said on the Rich Eisen Show this week. “It was something that happened pretty quickly. Once I got wind of it, I was definitely all for it. I had talked to Coach Tomlin way back at my Pro Day, which is a long time ago but feels like yesterday.

“Hearing everything about the Steelers organization, going back to Pennsylvania, I thought that would be a cool thing, once I got wind of that… what I needed to do on my end to get that done, I was willing to do.”

The Rams sent Robinson to Pittsburgh along with their No. 251 seventh-round pick in this year’s draft. In exchange, Los Angeles got the Steelers’ No. 254 selection. He has a history of thriving in the Keystone State. He left PSU as a second-round draft pick.

The Steelers were able to negotiate a pretty nice deal with the Rams, having Robinson’s former team take on $5 million for his 2023 salary. On top of that, they saved on cap space by converting $3.835 million into a signing bonus leaving a base of $1.165 million.

Robinson joins fourth NFL team for 10th season

Following the Rams’ Super Bowl win in 2022, they signed Robinson to a three-year deal for $46.5 million. The contract made him one of the top 40 highest-paid wideouts in the league.

However, in his first season in L.A., he played in 10 games, catching 33 passes for just 339 yards and three touchdowns. Robinson went on injured reserve in November due to a foot injury.

The former second-round draft pick out of Penn State is 29 years old and going into his 10th season in the league. He’s played for the Jaguars, the Bears and the Rams so far.

Robinson has 528 career regular-season catches for 6,748 yards and 43 touchdowns. In his nine seasons so far, he’s had three seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards.

His best year, statistically, was in 2015 with the Jaguars. He had 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns.
