New video emerges of Shedeur Sanders prank call, fake Mickey Loomis, Saints pick

A new video emerged of the Shedeur Sanders prank call regarding the 2025 NFL Draft. Video was released of Sanders being faked out at a potential selection, but was told to wait longer.
Sanders was actually level headed in the reaction after the fact too. He mentioned that he just got the phone “yesterday” and the phone wasn’t even in his name.
So at the very least, he was trying to figure out how someone even got the number. But, he didn’t freak out because he didn’t want to give whoever called the satisfaction of a reaction.
The second video is a clearer, up close video of Sanders’ initial phone call with a fake “Mickey Loomis.” During the call, the fake GM can be heard saying “We’re going to take you with our next pick. But you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer.”
Sanders immediately questioned it after he heard the latter sentence. Shedeur’s brother Shilo Sanders seemed to have a bigger reaction, being mad at a potential troll.

In the second video, you can even see the confusion on Deion Sanders’ face, saying the Saints “switched it up.” Tyler Shough ended up being the QB selected at No. 40 overall. While nothing was confirmed either way, it certainly seemed Shedeur Sanders was the victim of a prank call and was left waiting into Day 3 of the NFL Draft.
ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper, who believes Sanders was the best QB in the 2025 draft class, had a visceral reaction to another day of teams passing on the Colorado QB. This one topped his previous reactions.
“You talk about cocky or confident, arrogant or charismatic, OK? Leadership. There’s not going to be a show. There’s not going to be a circus with Shedeur Sanders,” Kiper said. “Deion Sanders was one of the hardest working players in the history of this game. He brought with him a great work ethic. He was loved in every locker room.
“Shedeur Sanders will be the same thing. He will galvanize… I don’t know what people are thinking is going to happen when Shedeur Sanders is part of football team. He said he’s going to work, the players are going to rally around him, he’s going to be a hell of a quarterback in his league, and he will cause a lot of sleepless nights and a lot of anguish.”
