Giants GM Joe Schoen's son sparks rampant Jaxson Dart speculation on Instagram, promptly sets account to private

The New York Giants will be on the clock with the third overall pick tonight in the 2025 NFL Draft. While there’s been a decent idea of who they’d take there, a family member of their management has caused a hint at another prospect they could be looking at.
Carson Schoen, the son of GM Joe Schoen, posted a highlight reel of Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart to his story on Instagram. He has since changed his account to private, though, considering what that post could possibly mean about the Giants’ interests in this draft.
This could definitely not be something at all with it just being a post on social media. This isn’t necessarily nothing either considering the Giants’ high selection and their need for a future quarterback.
If it were something, it wouldn’t mean just the selection at No. 3 either. New York could still take one of those top overall prospects with the third pick and possibly make a trade somewhere back into the first round for him if they don’t think he’d be there with their pick at No. 34 in the second round.

Dart has had a lot of buzz about him as this draft process has gone on. That’s led to some projections having him as a first-rounder now and as the second-best quarterback on the board for some behind Miami’s Cam Ward but ahead of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. That’s after continued development at the college level, including over his three years with the Rebels leading to a career-best season last fall in Oxford, before now coming into the NFL.
That said, the Giants are in an interesting spot. New York needs a young quarterback for their room after moving on from Daniel Jones and considering their offseason signings of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Still, with the third pick, it’s unlikely they’d go quarterback there with one of Colorado ATH Travis Hunter or Penn State DE Abul Carter still on the board after the Titans pick Ward at No. 1 and the Browns make their selection at No. 2.
Dart has been in connection to several teams now as high as throughout the first round tonight. The Giants, whether legitimate or not, are now among them because to this post, with it being shared less than a day before they’re on the clock, and its relation to the franchise’s general manager in New York.
