Giants quarterback Daniel Jones won’t play Sunday against the Bills after sustaining a neck injury in New York’s previous game.

Giants coach Brian Daboll announced the news on Friday. The Giants will start Tyrod Taylor against Buffalo. Coincidentally, Taylor used to play for the Bills.

Jones injured his neck last Sunday against the Dolphins when he was blindsided by a Miami defender. He didn’t practice any this week, which basically then was a no-go for the Bills game.

Daniel Jones missed chunk of 2021 with neck issue

Daniel Jones spoke with reporters, Wednesday. He stood in front of his locker and answered questions. According to reports, he moved his neck and didn’t show signs of discomfort.

“I think it’s tough to say today,’’ Jones said. “It has a lot to do with how I feel [Thursday] and the day after that.’’

If you haven’t seen the play, here’s the play that sent Jones to the bench.

Daniel Jones is one of many Giants on the injury report leading up to Sunday’s primetime matchup from Orchard Park. New York had yet to update the game status for the rest of the players on the list by early Friday afternoon. That will come later today.

Giants fans probably remember that Jones missed the final six games of 2021 because of a neck issue.
