Report: New York Giants schedule visit with USC receiver Jordan Addison

The New York Giants have been tipping their hand a bit on what they will use their first-round pick of the 2023 NFL Draft on. For the 30 draftee visits they have scheduled, the Giants have done some extensive scouting on potential first-round wide receivers. And the most recent to make that list is none other than the 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner, former USC Trojans’ wideout Jordan Addison. According to NBC senior NFL reporter Albert Breer, New York will bring in the former Trojan star for a visit on Wednesday.

“The Giants are bringing USC WR Jordan Addison to New Jersey for a 30 visit tomorrow, per source. Addison, the 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner, had dinner with a team contingent after his Pro Day last month. New York’s done a lot of work on potential first-round WRs,” wrote Breer via Twitter.

After spending the first two years of his collegiate career at Pittsburgh, Addison jumped into the transfer portal and headed to USC to join Lincoln Riley’s program. Addison didn’t have the gaudy stat line in his lone year with the Trojans as he did in his 2021 Biletnikoff Award-winning season with the Panthers, but his output was still impressive nonetheless. He finished last season with 59 receptions for 875 yards and eight touchdowns as a key part of a high-powered offense led by quarterback Caleb Williams.

More on the 2023 NFL Draft

The 2023 NFL Draft is set to take place from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event will be held at the plaza just outside of Union Station.

Round 1 of the NFL Draft is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Apr. 27. Rounds 2-3 will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Apr. 28, and Rounds 4-7 will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Apr. 29. The draft will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on both ESPN and NFL Network.

To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility. 100 underclassmen were approved for last year’s draft. 73 of those 100 underclassmen were granted special eligibility while 27 of them were underclassmen who had completed their college degrees.

The 2023 NFL scouting combine will take place from Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis.
