The New York Giants are finally putting their stamp on MetLife Stadium. After many years of displaying the NFL logo at midfield, the Giants announced (and revealed) that the official team logo will now sit at the 50-yard line.

Since the Giants have shared the stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey with the New York Jets, both teams have had the NFL logo at the mid-way point of the field instead of their own logos.

It seems both teams may opt for their own logos this season. If they’re going to go through the trouble of switching it at all, they may as well use both teams’ logos and retire the NFL shield on the turf for good.

MetLife Stadium is one of just two NFL stadiums that play home to more than one team. SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles is the other, hosting both the L.A. Rams and L.A. Chargers. SoFi, which opened in 2020, switches the mid-field logos for the teams that play there.

The Giants kick off the 2023 season with a home game. They’ll host NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys for Sunday Night Football on Sept. 10 on NBC. Other home opponents for the Giants this season are the Seahawks, Commanders, Jets, Patriots, Packers, Rams and Eagles.

NYG finished third in the NFC East last season before losing to the Eagles in the divisional round of the playoffs. They were able to start the season off hot with just one loss in the first seven weeks.

New York Jets selected for ‘Hard Knocks’

NFL insider Adam Schefter broke the news on Wednesday that the New York Jets will be the team featured on this year’s season of Hard Knocks, the popular all-access, behind-the-scenes show that showcases NFL training camp and preseason.

The team was the overwhelming favorite to be selected thanks to the addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason.

In addition to adding the four-time MVP quarterback, the Jets also boast last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in receiver Garrett Wilson and Defensive Rookie of the Year in cornerback Sauce Gardner.

The Jets also have running back Breece Hall, who is making his way back from a torn ACL.

That group, in addition to other former Packers like receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, has many predicting that not only will the Jets end their playoff drought, but also potentially compete for a Super Bowl.

Check-in for Jets training camp starts on July 19 with camp officially starting on the 22nd.
