Sauce Gardner accuses Mac Jones of low blow: He's trying to stop me from having kids
The New England Patriots did whatever it took to pull off their first win of the season, defeating the New York Jets 15-10 on Sunday afternoon. But according to New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, the Patriots may have done a little bit too much.
The Patriots ran a quarterback sneak with Mac Jones on a crucial 3rd & 1 play in the fourth quarter, which they did not convert and resulted in a physical altercation and shoving match between the two teams. Jets linebacker CJ Mosley aggressively slammed Jones to the ground after the play which escalated the the skirmish, and according to Gardner, Jones hit him below the belt following the play.
Gardner was asked about the play following the game, and if he needed to possibly apply ice to the area the Jones attempted to injure on the play.
“Man, that s— had my stomach hurting a little bit. I don’t even know what to say,” Gardner laughed and said. “I do gotta ice up, he’s trying to stop me from having kids in the future.”
Gardner’s post-game remarks got a good laugh out of the surrounding media members, but it was no laughing matter at the moment in the game. Footage surfaced after the game of the Jets and the Patriots’ third down altercation where Gardner shoved Jones to the ground.

It can’t be seen clearly if Jones took an actual swing at Gardner below the belt, but if he in fact did, it definitely explains why Gardner felt the need to respond, as a appeared looked to step in Gardner’s way following the shove.
As always there are two sides to the story, as Jones was asked about the play following the game and denied making a dirty play on the quarterback sneak. But regardless he was able to sneak by the Jets in what seemed like a must-win game for New England.
Jones completed 51.7% of his passes on the day for 201 yards and a touchdown versus the Jets’ stout defense, avoiding getting sacked or turning the ball over for the first time in either department this season.
Gardner ended the game with three total tackles and one solo. The reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and First-Team All-Pro selection has never missed a game in his young NFL career, and hopefully, his bizarre situation with Jones keeps him off the injury report heading into Week 4.
