Report: Wide receiver Elijah Moore asks New York Jets for trade
Since Zach Wilson came back for the New York Jets, success has been flowing. They will head into Sunday with a three-game winning streak and are just a game back in the AFC East six games into the season. However, not everyone is happy with the play on the field. Specifically, wide receiver Elijah Moore.
According to Ian Rapoport, frustration has boiled over enough for Moore and he has asked the Jets to trade him. At the moment, there are “no plans” to move on from the second-round wide receiver out of Ole Miss. But he’s made his thoughts known to the franchise.

“Sources: #Jets WR Elijah Moore, frustrated with his role and usage, has asked for a trade,” Rapoport said. “The team has no plans at all to trade him. The former second-rounder was targeted once in the win over the #Packers, but the play was negated by a penalty.”
Moore has 16 receptions this season, producing 203 yards but no touchdowns. After not being targeting during the win against Green Bay, the wide receiver is now ready to begin the next chapter of his career.
Zach Wilson sends message to Elijah Moore
Earlier on Thursday, Wilson was asked about the struggles Moore has been going through. The Jets’ quarterback still thinks the wide receiver is important to how the season will play out, even saying he needs Moore.

“Just keep encouraging him,” Wilson said. “We love him and I know how important he is to this team. We do everything we can. We’re winning games, we’re having a lot of fun. Really, all we can do it keep learning and growing and letting him know that I need him.”
Wilson got back into the lineup against Pittsburgh and has seen his production drop. Eight targets over three games have resulted in four receptions for 64 yards. His offensive snaps have significantly nosedived as well, only playing 58% of plays against Green Bay.
The Jets will be back on the road this Sunday, traveling to Denver to face off against the Broncos. While Moore has requested a trade, he still should be playing for New York. How much head coach Robert Saleh trots him out there — we’ll have to wait and see.
