The New York Jets have had quite the offseason, acquiring quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as well as one of his most trusted pass-catchers over the past several seasons, receiver Allen Lazard.

On Tuesday, both Rodgers and Lazard revealed minor injuries that impacted them during the team’s practice.

Lazard was able to recover fully from his in a matter of minutes, luckily.

The sixth-year pro left the team’s practice with a team trainer on Tuesday before later returning when the team picked up 7-on-7 drills. Lazard didn’t seem to have any ill effects from his brief injury scare, and he revealed the cause of his brief absence on Twitter after practice.

“I’m good y’all,” Allen Lazard wrote with a prayer hands emoji. “(N)ot sure why they didn’t report that I practiced the rest of the day at 100% but I’m good lol.

“Just got hit in the gonads.”

Rodgers, meanwhile, suffered a tweaked calf muscle in a pre-practice conditioning session. He noted that he didn’t think the injury was too serious.

After spending his entire career in Green Bay, Rodgers will be tasked with helping take the Jets to the next level. New York hasn’t had a season above .500 since 2015, while it hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2010, when it reached the AFC Championship Game.

As a four-time league MVP and 10-time Pro Bowler, Rodgers has the track record to really turn things around.

Lazard signed a four-year, $44 million deal with the Jets in free agency. He’ll be one of Rodgers’ top targets.

During the 2022 campaign in Green Bay, Lazard racked up 60 catches for 788 yards and six touchdowns. During his five-year career he has logged 169 catches for 2,236 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Allen Lazard was an undrafted prospect out of Iowa State in 2018, latching on with the Green Bay Packers after initially signing with and being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
