NFL agent reveals mutual interest between Browns, Jarvis Landry following Deshaun Watson pickup
Two weeks after getting his release from the Cleveland Browns, Jarvis Landry and his agent are letting the world know the former LSU Tiger still has an interest in returning to the team. Landry’s agent, Roosevelt Barnes, revealed that the acquisition of Deshaun Watson has made the Browns “more intriguing.”
“That’s his home and he loves it there,’’ Barnes told Cleveland.com. “There’s mutual interest in him being back there, but Jarvis also has interest from some other teams as well.
“When you’re a receiver, you always want to play with a great quarterback like Deshaun. Jarvis has always had a special place in his heart for Cleveland, but Deshaun being there makes it more intriguing.’’
Landry is coming off of a season where he played 12 games, hauling in 52 receptions for 570 yards and two touchdowns, all of which are career lows. In his four years with the Browns, Landry has played in 59 games with 288 receptions for 3,560 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Prior to coming to Cleveland, Landry spent four years with the Miami Dolphins. With the Dolphins, Landry had 400 receptions for 4,038 yards and 22 touchdowns in 64 games.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that he “loves” Landry, as a person and a player, but refused to confirm any moves they might be making to get him back in the orange and brown.

“I think we’ve got to let the process play out for all those players,’’ Stefanski said. “As I’ve mentioned before and you guys know, I love Jarvis the player, I love Jarvis the person, but we’ve got to let all that play out.”
Landry could return to the Browns despite being a free agent
Even though the Browns released Landry, he could still be making a return to Cleveland as a free agent. Cleveland acquired former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper in a trade, giving the receiving room a much-needed jolt. But there is still work left to do.
The Browns have Deshaun Watson at quarterback and believe he is capable of being the guy to lead them to contention. Having weapons on offense will be a key part of Cleveland’s success. Outside of Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones is the most notable receiver on the Browns roster. He caught 34 passes for 597 yards and three touchdowns last season.
With his new representation, Landry is looking for a new contract that he feels he deserves while also trying to find a team that has an offense that he’ll fit into.
