The 2024 season is going to be an important one for the Jacksonville Jaguars, as the team looks to return to the playoffs in what appears to be an increasingly competitive AFC South.

On top of that, this is a difficult season to know what to expect from Jacksonville. However, NFL analytics expert Cynthia Frelund did share a prediction for the team’s win total for the 2024 season. As of now, she is projecting that the Jaguars will win 8.5 games for the season.

“We’re going to learn a lot about the success of the Jags’ offseason moves early in the 2024 campaign, with Jacksonville set to kick off the year with the hardest four games of any team in the league (at Dolphins, Browns, at Bills, at Texans),” Frelund wrote.

“The Jags’ median projection is a wild-card berth, but my models show they need to make it to their Week 12 bye with at least six wins to have a strong probability of clinching a spot in the tournament.”

Those 8.5 wins for Jacksonville are tied for the second-best in the AFC South for the 2024 season. The Houston Texans are currently projected at the top of the division with 10.0 wins, but the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars are tied in their projected win total. The Tennessee Titans are rounding out the bottom of the division.

Along with the total wins being projected, Frelund is giving the Jaguars +120 odds to make the playoffs, +285 odds to win the division, +2500 to win the AFC, and +4500 odds to win the Super Bowl.

Trevor Lawrence addresses ongoing contract extension talks with Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars and quarterback Trevor Lawrence are currently negotiating a potential contract extension. Those talks are key to the franchise’s future and will help to show what the team thinks of its signal caller.

Now, Lawrence has addressed the ongoing contract talks with the Jaguars.

“I’m aware of what’s going on, but I try to keep my focus on doing my job out here,” Lawrence said. “I have full belief that’ll take care of itself and that’s not something that I need to worry about. That’s why I pay people and hire people to do that for me. That’s not my job, but I know what’s going on. I’m aware of the situation, I think that’s important too. I try to keep my focus and energy on being the best player I can be to help us win.”
